6 Golden Talking Points: The not so secret recipe for a perfect branding video script!

Your branding video is going to be the story of your business…

A chance for your customers to really get a sense of the passion that you and your employees have for what you do.

Now when you look to get a branding video you may be focused on having a certain element of your business shown; if you’re an accountants then it’s accounting and meeting clients, if you’re a property developer then it’s the spaces and if you’re a martial arts school then it’s the moves!

However, despite all the cool things we can show on camera, at the heart of every great branding video (are you ready for the cheesy line?)

is…a great story! Cheesy but true!

But it is how you tell the story that counts. It’s quite easy to sit a person down in front of a camera and get them to ramble on about their own business story, however, you will find that this makes for a very hard edit, and it can sound rather jarring above anything else.

So how do we get the story to fit together? Well a script of course! And today I’m going to give you my now not so secret recipe for a branding video script, a script that tells the perfect story every time and gets results.

Let’s go!

Below are some questions and starting points that we’ll ask you to work your story around, we recommend expanding on these points and having them ready on filming day so you’re ready to tell the camera about what you do. Of course, we’ll go through everything before the shoot day so your script is top notch!

1. Introduce yourself, your role within the business and what the business does.

Remember to introduce your niche, what is it your business does differently and what it does best.

2.The mission.

What is your aim when it comes to your customers? Do you want to solve a problem for them? Make their journey smoother? Is their an amazing new product you can provide them with?

Talk about who your aiming your product or service towards and your experience already within that market.

3. The history of your business. What is the story?

How long have you been established? Maybe think of a story that was the reason you wanted to start your business or re-introduce your business.

Talk about what you have been doing so far in your business up to the present day.

4. Achievements.

Now is the time to have a humble brag about what you have been doing well! Is there a story of a particular customer who you went the extra mile for? Have you won and award for your business?

5. The challenge and needs of your customers today.

Try and connect with people who may be your target client by describing what your perfect customer looks like? What challenges are they facing that means they need to reach out to you?

 6. Call to action!

Finish off by telling the person watching to get in touch. Always encourage the viewer to reach out.

And that is it! 6 golden points to tell your story, you may think that this is too short to tell your journey in. Trust me, it’s a perfect amount of points, we have used this guide on multiple videos and been able to take a lot of pressure off clients having to come up with lines on filming days. Having a script to read off of or memorise is always better, it means that we can do multiple takes to get every line delivered perfectly so your viewers pay attention all the way through.

Whether you are a business who is looking for video or a video producer getting ready for your next shoot then be sure to note down these 6 points and use them. You’ll be surprised how much content you can get from them and how much smoother your video flows!
