Ann Marie and Alan’s Very Special Wedding day - Delapre Abbey, Northampton

Ann Marie and Alan’s day was the first wedding of the year for Yellow Glove Productions. I don’t think I have to go into much detail as to why, the sheer amount of weddings that have been cancelled and rescheduled this year has been crazy!

So, as it was the first wedding of the year, there was a lot of build up, making sure that I was following all the right safety precautions, getting all the right shots while being within guidelines and creating a video for Ann Marie and Alan that they can watch back with a smile on their faces. With everything going on, we were all a bit concerned if the day was going to fully go ahead, luckily, everything did go ahead, and it was perfect!

Every Video and Photo person knows that morning preparation can always get a bit hectic, and why wouldn’t they? There’s bridesmaids, hairdressers, makeup artists and a dress to get in to, definitely a lot going on. But Ann Marie’s preparations were very chilled out. It was just Ann Marie, Maid of Honour Vicky, Daughter Isabelle, one hair dresser, myself and Neil the Photographer. The weather was lovely and the atmosphere was calm, I got some lovely shots of both the details and interactions, one of my favourites being the Skype call with Ann Marie’s Parents who weren’t able to make it to the wedding as they had to stay shielded. Moments like that are definitely what video is for.

When John the driver arrived with the very beautiful wedding car, it was off the the Guildhall in Northampton for the Ceremony. As well as being the main videographer for the day I was also making sure that the “start meeting” button was clicked on the Zoom channel. Due to the reduced numbers, Ann Marie and Alan thought the great idea of having all the guests that couldn’t make it on Zoom, a lovely idea to include everyone!

I always say that personal vows are the best vows, Ann Marie and Alan definitely showed that; as seen in the highlights, the personal readings were very emotional but really summed up the love that this couple felt for each other. I knew on the day that the vows were going to be perfect to put in the highlight video to really bring the couple back to the big day.

After the some pictures outside the Guildhall, I headed to the reception a couple of minutes away at the picturesque Delapre Abbey. Some more group pictures were taken as well as some epic shots of the newly weds in the gardens and then it was picnic time! Ann Marie and Alan had a lovely picnic box arranged for the guests so they could distance at will. Paired with some music on the bluetooth speakers, the afternoon was super chilled out. After Alan’s speech and the cake cutting, Ann Marie and Alan were able to have their first little boogie as Mr and Mrs.

Overall, the day was just lovely, despite myself and Ann Marie and Alan’s worries up until the day, everything turned out perfect! Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Ann Marie and Alan for having me there to film the day, the highlights and full length video are going to mean so so much in the future.

Hopefully, more couples this year will take the decision to have their wedding this year. I think all the rules in place can actually make the day even more special when it comes to it, as long as you are both there at the end of the aisle, saying those all important words, surrounded by your closest family and friends, then you are bound to have the most amazing day of your life.
