Music Videos: Making videos that stand out! | #Jan30 03

Hi, Jasper from Yellow Glove Productions here.

Today I’ll be talking about music videos.

Now, music videos are something I absolutely love creating; from hearing an artists track for the first time to visualising a scene in my own mind and then working with the artist to make that vision come to life. It is all great fun and really challenging creatively.

In music videos I can use different lighting techniques, different costumes, props and locations that I may do compared to weddings and business videos.

It’s not very often you see a spaceman like this in a wedding party

I do believe that music videos are not only a great way to exercise creativity, but also an important reminder that when creating videos not only should the videographer take creative risks but also the client. Making content that stands out is key to a successful video.

Call it eye catching or scroll stopping. The fact is that music videos can often generate so many views not just because the song works well but also the visuals can keep people engaged, hearing the message the artists wants them to hear or interpret.

If you’re watching this as a musician or producer then feel free to get in touch about working on a project together.

However, if you’re a business owner then you may be able to still take something from this…

If you’re creating your own video content on your phone or your own camera then be sure that your own track sounds good.

What I mean is make sure your video has a sole purpose, give a clear message to the viewer and don’t drift off. Whether it’s something they can take away and think about or a skill they can be taught.

And make sure that visually your standing out; good lighting and audio (something I’ll talk about in later videos) can make a huge difference when it comes to filming your own content. So be sure to aim for quality every time you plan out your next piece of video.

You may even be able to take the more out of this world concepts to your content, again, helping it to stand out and engage viewers.

That’s it for today, a short one but hopefully you’ve taken something from it.

Whether your an artist, producer or business owner that’s interested in video, if you want to find out more about standing out with content then feel free to get in touch or ask some questions in the comments below!

Tomorrow I’m venturing outside of the office and I’ll be bringing a guest on! Stay tuned for that.

As always thank you very much for watching and I’ll speak to you soon! Bye for now.
