Analysis of a branding video | #Jan30 18
Disclaimer: I say trip advisor instead of Trustpilot in the video, I can confirm Garrison Locks is not a hotel so don't enquire for B&B, just van security! 😂
Jasper:
Hello everyone, Jasper from Yellow Glove Productions here. And today I'm going to be taking a deeper look at one of our previous branding videos. Some of you may know that branding videos are one of our sort of specialty products. They're videos that allow our clients to introduce themselves on video to potential customers, and previous customers as well. Today we're going to be looking at the branding video of Garrison Locks. This was one of our more recent branding videos, and it was lots of fun to film. So let's get straight into breaking it down.
Richard Breslin:
Hi, my name is Richard Breslin, and I'm the director of Garrison Locks. We offer fully nationwide installation service, and online retail of van security.
Jasper:
So, straight away there, it's just a little thing, but it makes a lot of difference to a video. So we've got two camera angles. That just means that if you make small slip-up on the day, for example, or there's a better take to cut to, then we can just break things up and transition smoothly without doing it, like being too jarring when it comes to editing. It doesn't necessarily mean, as well, when I cut that someone slipped up or there's a better take. Sometimes it's just the fact that, if it's a longer bit of text, just cutting to that second angle makes all the difference for the viewer, and keeps them even more engaged with the video.
Jasper:
Nice little shot of the team there.
Richard Breslin:
This year, van crime has dramatically increased by 20%. In order to reduce this, our team aims to ensure that our customers receive current up to date advice on how to secure their vehicles correctly, whilst being within their budget.
Jasper:
So there, after the shot of the team in the offices, we've gone back to the interview with Richard. He's talked about what the problem is that his customers are facing. We use a script guide to work out what the problems and needs of the customers are, and then how we can get across in video how, well, companies like Garrison Lock solve those problems.
Richard Breslin:
We thrive on resolving security issues for customers by offering the best products to enhance and maximize security on their vans. Whether you are-
Jasper:
We're getting so much information in, what, the first 40 seconds of the video. So we're putting a friendly face to, again, the customer service part, sharing that there are people behind the business. It's not like a large sort of unfriendly call center. You know you are in touch with experts, you are in touch with people that are going to help. And it all helps with putting that like, know, and trust relationship there when clients, potential customers, potential clients, or existing people who have shopped with Garrison Locks watch the video.
Richard Breslin:
Whether you are a one man band or a fleet company, we've got you covered. It's super easy to book in your fans for an approved installation. This could be done through calling our installations team, or simply using our online booking service.
Speaker 3:
Good morning, Garrison Locks. How can I help you today?
Jasper:
We decided as well in the edit just use a bit of audio, saying, "Hello, Garrison Locks," again, just showing that customer service is really strong, and just emphasizing the friendly nature behind it.
Richard Breslin:
With decades of experience, whether it's installation or retail that you are looking for, our service is unrivaled. We are recognized as the UK's leading company for van security.
Jasper:
So, this goes into achievement. So they have been around for a long time, decades of experience, and Garrison are the leading force for van security. So it's just getting points like this across in the branding video. It's important that the video is welcoming and it has a purpose to it as well, and shows those potential customers if they're the right fit for Garrison.
Richard Breslin:
And Garrison Locks' products-
Jasper:
Key cutting shots here.
Richard Breslin:
[crosstalk 00:03:45] premises and vehicles for around 35 years. Welcome to Garrison Locks HQ here in Leicestershire. I'm going to introduce you to our key members of staff. We have Jess in accounts.
Jess:
Hi.
Richard Breslin:
We have Claire over there-
Jasper:
So at this point we broke up the video to introduce the staff of Garrison Locks, showing again, this video was really all about showing the customer service side of Garrison Locks, and showing that they're a trusted company, they're an established company, and you should be shopping with them if van security is what you're after.
Jasper:
Richard giving a tour of the offices here. And again, putting names to faces. Things like that just makes the extra bit of difference when it comes to the branding video.
Richard Breslin:
We are extremely proud of the high quality customer service that we aim to give with every order. At Garrison-
Jasper:
The shots of the team in the office just interacting with each other, having a chat, it just gives it an extra depth to the video as well, rather than just showing pictures of van locks, basically. You may notice that we only had three or four shots of actual van security products. And what makes you stand out is your customer service.
Richard Breslin:
...Garrison Locks, we use Trustpilot as our preferred reviews platform. With over 500 five star reviews.
Jasper:
So I thought this was a great little shot. We had actual screenshots from Trustpilot, some of the reviews on there, and obviously their five stars are verified through Trustpilot as well. And just had them popping up just to sort of emphasize the trust people have in Garrison Locks. Sometimes we'll have video testimonials that we've gone out to film, or Zoom testimonials even. But I thought that this was a really sort of quirky way of getting the reviews out there as well.
Richard Breslin:
You are guaranteed the best level of service through our online retail or our installation service. Whether it's a high-key driver's door lock upgrade, high level hook locks, armored plates, or armor shells, Garrison Locks has you covered. With a van being broken into every 23 minutes in the UK, please don't become another statistic. Get your van secured using Garrison Locks. Just get in touch by clicking on the link below this video. And we look forward to seeing you.
Jasper:
So that's the end of the video. I'm just going to touch on that little last sequence there. Richard goes back to that first point in the video, he mentions the statistic about a van being broken into every X amount of minutes in the UK, which is a really powerful statistic. It was really good to have that when it came into the script guide. Going back to that first point, it brings it full circle. You've seen the customer service, you've met the team, you know a bit more about the company as well in terms of the history. So it's just a lovely sort of closing statement, in a sense, when it comes to the branding video.
Jasper:
Showing the website as well. It just, again, comes full circle and allows people to see just a bit more of Garrison Locks and keeps the viewer interested just by breaking up that closing statement with another visual as well. And then just nice and simple, at the end, click the link below to get your van protected. And by having a call to action like that, it just means that you can do a link at the bottom in the description, whether it's on YouTube or Facebook. You can put a link below. It can be a custom link to different landing pages. And then you can track where the traffic is coming from in relation to your video.
Jasper:
That's it in terms of breaking down the branding video. I'll probably be doing a couple more of these in the future, just because it's interesting for me to look back on and learn from the videos as well that we've done previously. And it's nice for you to find out a bit more about the decisions in the edit and why we chose to shoot certain shots. It's great that established companies like Garrison are working with us to create new video content and get started online with video as well. Hopefully you enjoyed that. Let me know if there's anything in the comments that you want to know more, maybe about the shoot itself. Or if you have a suggestion about a branding video that we've done that I could break down, then yeah, let me know. That's all for today, but thank you as always for watching, and I'll speak to you tomorrow. Bye for now.
